Well, here we are. First, it’s reported that Trump called his assembled Joint Chiefs “babies and dopes” and said they couldn’t win wars anymore. Next we hear from multiple media outlets – including Fox – that Trump has called military members “suckers” and “losers” and wonders “what’s in it for them?”
We then learn from Corporal Bonespurs that Gen. John Kelly, USMC, was exhausted, did a lousy job, and “petered out” as White House chief of staff. And at the Monday presser we hear “top people in the Pentagon” probably aren’t “in love with me” because “they want to do nothing but fight wars so that all of those wonderful companies that make the bombs and make the planes and make everything else stay happy.”
Let’s understand this, folks: the president of the United States publicly stated that his top military officers — most of whom he appointed to their three- and four-star positions — want to send young Americans into harm’s way to be killed or injured in order to line the pockets of defense contractors. Only card-carrying Orange Cult members believe his denials anymore.
