Letter: Tiverton Democrats announce endorsements

Posted

On behalf of the Tiverton Democratic Town Committee it gives me great pleasure to announce our support and endorsement of the following candidates:

For state and congressional office we support Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, Representative Gabe Amo, State Senator Louis DiPalma, State Senator Wally Felag, State Representative Jay Edwards and State Representative Michelle McGaw. All have served our country, state and town with distinction and honor and we look forward to their continued leadership.

For Tiverton Town Council we endorse:
David Paull, David Perry, Deborah Janick, Denise deMedeiros, John Edwards V and Michael Burk.

For Tiverton School Committee we endorse Diane Farnworth and Michael DeCotis.

For Charter Review Commission we endorse Donna Edwards, Eleanor Byrne, Jerome Larkin and Michael Janick.
Also for Charter Review we endorse the following write-in candidates: Dennis Milbourne, Diane E. Sanna and Nancy L. Mello.

Please note that the name of any write-in candidate needs to be spelled properly (as above) on the ballot.

In this very consequential election, these candidates align with the values of the Democratic party and we look forward to their continuing or stepping into leadership roles in our community.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
