To the editor:

Oh, goody. This week the circus came to Tiverton, complete with clown car. One hopes they brought the VIP, the guy with the wheeled trash can and shovel who follows along after the elephants come through.

Silly me thinking 2019 Halloween had passed.

A mob of several non-local fellow travelers also descended on Tiverton last weekend, canvassing door-to-door. Great fun. It sells newspapers, I guess, and cements Tiverton town government’s local reputation as absolutely dysfunctional.

I have to say: “We’re so proud …”

Richard Rom, Republican Town Committee chairman, in last week’s Sakonnet Times, opined, regarding the recent successful recall: “That’s not how we do it in America.”

Well, duh, yuh think?!. It’s like the poster about Einstein’s famous E=mc2 formula: “It’s not just a good idea. IT’S THE LAW.” Yuh got a problem with the law?!

The ‘K/C2/D’ cabal’s former Katz/Coulter/Cook/Driggs majority (Ms. Cook/Ms. Driggs, ‘happy warriors’ both – like bad pennies or a burr under your saddle - persist (resist?!) on Town Council. This mob appointed Mr. Rom to Tiverton’s Library Board of Trustees earlier this year.

Mr. Rom – reported in the Sakonnet Times - apparently doesn’t read much or much read, and doesn’t see the need for books, much less libraries.

Might’s well appoint pyromaniac arsonists to the Fire Department, or serial killer ax murderers to the Police Department.

Mr. Ken Block, from parts unknown – likely not a Tiverton resident -  describes the successful recent recall – Sakonnet Times - as “… so anti-American I can’t get over it,” but his ‘recall the recall,’ he describes as ‘righteous.’

Hmmph…

Mr. Rom decries the successful Katz/Coulter recall as a lot like the title of the children’s book Alexander and the Horrible, Terrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.

What is this gang of merry pranksters planning?! Well, undoubtedly, with no logic/consistency, to push another recall, the exact same thing.

I close with the thought that, ‘If you see someone approaching you, encouraging you to do something that is ‘good’ for you, run like hell in the opposite direction.’

Cearly not dearly departed (resigned after the successful Katz/Coulter recall) Town Solicitor, Giovanni Cicione, appointed - December 2018 in a dead-of-night deal, is, like Katz, another ‘co-religionist’ associated with such organizations as the Koch Brothers’ affiliated so-called ‘RI Center for Freedom and Prosperity.’ Think carefully about whether you want that mob involved in Tiverton’s affairs.

Lord preserve us from these BS peddlers coming to foist their know-nothing ideologies upon Tiverton. BS may be great as a fertilizer but has little utility to real residents of Tiverton, especially considering that it gets slung around so promiscuously by this mob.

To the canvassing horde, I say: “Kindly take your ‘philosophy’ somewhere other than Tiverton. We ain’t interested.”

We are not a laboratory for your absurdist, self-serving cockamamie ‘road apples.’
