Letter: Setting record straight in Seasons reporting errors

I would like to have corrected several items made in last week's front page article on the Tiverton Zoning Board of Appeals. First, my last name is "Driggs,” not "Griggs,” as printed.

Second, I was not "close to tears” as the reporter seemed to think. Rather I reported being "horrified and embarrassed by the ineptness of the zoning board's process and actions — the chair's vote in favor of granting the special use permits after all her concerns about many of the safety issues, and statements made by member JenniferHilton Cavanagh to the effect that we will have to see if some bad safety happens first, and the town must look into widening Main Road." I told the reporter she could quote me on that. I am concerned that my specific concerns I said she could quote me on were not reported, and that, instead, she was more concerned with reporting what she assumed (incorrectly) were my emotions.
