Letter: Generous donors helped Amicable Church brighten families’ Thanksgivings

To the editor:

On behalf of Amicable Church I would like to thank the community for all their help in making our Thanksgiving basket project such a huge success.

We were able to provide a full Thanksgiving meal for over 125 families in the Greater Tiverton Community plus food for their pantry.  This has been a trying year and we hope we have helped to alleviate some of the stress.

St. Theresa’s and St. Christopher’s Churches collected food for the project, along with the manpower to put the baskets together and distribute them.  Future Scholars also did a very successful food drive.  Tiverton Library was essential in providing the location, collecting food, and Deb Estrella working all day with us.

A special thank you to Marlene and Sherril for all their work in the weeks before.  Also a special thank you to Sandra for her months of hard work soliciting donations. The volunteers named and those from the community were vital in making all three days of preparation and distribution run smoothly.

On behalf of all of us from Amicable Church, thank you.
