June P. Bento, 94, Newport

She adored her family and would do anything for them

June P. (Cavaca) Bento, 94, of Newport, passed away on Jan. 5, 2022, at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Marjorie (Brow) Cavaca.

Retiring from the government after over 30 years at NETC, June went to work for Analysis & Technology Inc. as the Security Officer and Facilities Manager for their Newport location for another 15 years.

After retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her friends, with whom she had grown up with in Little Compton and Tiverton.

In later years, June enjoyed sitting on her deck with family, friends and a glass of wine. She loved to laugh, she loved to read, she loved animals. She adored her family and would do anything for them.

June is survived by her two daughters, Patricia Laflamme and her husband Marc of Swansea, and Deborah Barrett of Newport; her grandson, Scott Canfield; and great-granddaughter, Alysha Canfield.  She also leaves behind good friends and extended family, who were always there for her. She will be missed by all …

Due to concern for the health and wellness of family and friends, the family is only having a graveside service on Jan. 21, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Hillside Cemetery, Tiverton.  All are welcomed to attend.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Potter League for Animals, 87 Oliphant Lane, Middletown RI  02842.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Rd., Westport, MA 02790.
