Tiverton girls soccer scores quarterfinals shutout win

TIVERTON — Working from a first round bye, the top seeded Tiverton girls soccer team put on an offensive and defensive clinic in Saturday’s Division III quarterfinals, scoring a 5-0 victory over eighth seeded Blackstone Valley Prep on the Tigers’ home field.

Mariah Ramos and Victoria McGovern led the way for Tiverton with two goals apiece, while Jillian Swass scored the other Tiverton goal.

Earning assists were Ramos, Hannah Marley and Mikayla Esteves.

Tiverton next takes its 16-0-1 record (only two goals against all season long) to Wednesday’s semifinals against fifth seeded Narragansett which scored a 5-1 win Saturday over fourth seeded Shea. The game will be played at 5:30 p.m. at Cumberland Tucker Field.
