Donna A. McGlynn 89, Tiverton

Donna A. (Bennett) McGlynn, 89, of Tiverton, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2019. She was the widow of Norman E. McGlynn.  Born in Merced, California, she was the daughter of the the late Wilma (Glusing) and Donald W. Bennett Sr. 

A homemaker, she is survived by a daughter, Sharon Durfee, and a son, Eric McGlynn.  She was the mother of the late Brian McGlynn.  She also leaves four grandchildren and three great grandsons.  In addition, she leaves a sister, Marilyn Blanco, and was predeceased by several siblings. 

Her interests were gardening and puzzle making but utmost was her family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice in her memory.  Private arrangements are with the Pocasset Memorial Funeral Home, 462 Main Road, Tiverton.  www.almeida-pocasset.com.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
