Nayatt School and Arts Alive! present 'Seussical Kids'

Nayatt School students will take the stage this weekend to perform "Seussical Kids."

There will be two performances — one on Friday, Feb. 2 at 6:30 p.m., and a second on Saturday, Feb. 3 at 12:30 p.m. Both shows will be held at Barrington High School.

"Theodor Geisel championed underdogs, misfits, and anyone unafraid to embrace their humanity (even if they were an elephant). 'Suessical Kids' vividly brings Dr. Suess's world to life, and is a perfect choice for children's theater because after all, 'a person's a person no matter how small,’" said Pete Bilderback, president of Arts Alive’s board of directors.

Gladys Cole, who directed the production for Nayatt School, added, “I am so excited to have this wonderful opportunity with Arts Alive! Working with the Nayatt elementary school students is a pleasure and a rewarding experience. I am so proud of their hard work and dedication. 'Oh the Things You Can Think' when you think about the message of Seussical Kids, which is about helping kids understand tolerance, peace, and the value of dignity. We are all unique in our way and it is OK to fight for your beliefs; this is a powerful message for children.”

Tickets are available online at https://artsalivebarrington.org/ for $7 with reserved seating, or at the door before each performance.

In addition, audience members may purchase tickets for the raffle of a Broadway Weekend Getaway for two at every show. At $10 per ticket, the winner of the grand prize gets to choose two tickets to a Broadway show (Wicked, Dear Evan Hansen, or The Lion King), with flexible dates through Oct. 31. The prize includes a two-night stay at a 4-star hotel in Times Square, and a $100 Visa card. The drawing will be held on June 10, after the final performance of the Hampden Meadows School show of Beauty and the Beast Jr. at Barrington High School. The winner will not need to be present at the drawing to win.
