PORTSMOUTH — A 23-year-old Fall River woman was arrested Monday, July 27, after she allegedly swore at beach employees at Sandy Point Beach.

Alyssa S. Pollard, of 35 Rolling Green, was charged with disorderly conduct (offensive words at another), after police responded to Sandy Point Beach around 4:20 p.m.

Here are some other recent highlights from the Portsmouth Police report:

Monday, July 20

Cintia I. Silva, 27, of 72 Hall St., Apt. 1, Fall River, was charged with a town ordinance violation — burning without a permit — in the area of Railroad Avenue and the Sakonnet River Bridge around 8:35 p.m.

Tuesday, July 21

Jose H. Barragan, 41, of 45 Washington St., Warren, was charged with driving with a suspended license (third or subsequent offense), after being pulled over for speeding on Turnpike Avenue at Gorton Street around 9:25 a.m. 

Wednesday, July 22

William S. Gaw, 21, of 2701 East Main Road 2, was charged with domestic assault and disorderly conduct at about 11 a.m. Police responded to his home after receiving a report of a man pushing a woman out the front door of the residence. Police said the victim was a 19-year-old woman from Middletown.

Kevin R. Davis, 46, of 96 Dexter St., was arrested on a 2nd District Court bench warrant after police responded to his home shortly before 5 p.m. after receiving a call for a wellbeing check. Upon arriving, police learned of the warrant, which they said was for failure to appear for arraignment on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

Thursday, July 23

Jamie L Estrella, 35, of 882 Middle Road, was charged with disorderly conduct after police responded to a Point Road address around 9 p.m. to investigate a report of an unknown woman who had screamed profanities as she attempted to steal a vehicle, a debit card and cash from a man, according to police. Police said they located Ms. Estrella, in possession of the debit card, as she was walking southbound on Point Road. 

Saturday, July 25

Shane M. Buddemeyer, 22, of 73 Potomac Road, was charged with disorderly conduct (making loud/disturbing noise) after police responded to a report of a man acting disorderly at McCorrie Beach shortly after 5:30 p.m. Police said they observed Mr. Buddemeyer yelling loudly and cursing in the area of many other people and families in the area.

Sunday, July 26

Samuel G. Antunes, 30, of 75 Prospect St., Brockton, Mass., was charged with a town ordinance violation — burning without a permit — in the area of Railroad Avenue and the Sakonnet River Bridge around 8:40 p.m.

Monday, July 27

Oliver A. Pocon, 44, of 25 Williams St., Waltham, Mass., was charged with operating a vehicle under a foreign license that had been suspended or revoked. He was pulled over for a traffic violation on Chase Road at Boyds Lane around 9 p.m.

Tuesday, July 28

Donald B. Perry, 59, of 4 Farewell St., Apt. 146, Newport, was charged with driving without an active license (first offense), after being pulled over for a traffic violation on West Main Road at Raytheon shortly after midnight.

Wednesday, July 29

Kenneth D. Barnes, 38, of 623 Douglas Ave., Apt. 1, Providence, was charged with driving while intoxicated (second offense) after being stopped on West Main Road at John Street for a traffic violation around 1:30 a.m. He was also cited for refusing a chemical test.

Two men were charged with simple assault after police investigated a report of a fight in progress in the area of Walnut Street and Russell Avenue around 4:20 a.m. Arrested were Kevin C. Sylvia, 37, of 14 Riverside St., and Philip Clement, 54, of no permanent address.

Matthew E. Stewart, 53, of 21 Clarions St., Cranston, was charged with driving on a suspended license (third offense) after being pulled over for a traffic violation on West Main Road at Russo Road around 7:30 p.m.

Thursday, July 30

Cristiano A. Mendes, 31, of 38 Emmett St., Fall River, was charged with driving while intoxicated (first offense) after being stopped for a traffic violation and speeding — police said he was traveling at 96 mph in a 50 mph zone — on Route 24 North at Cedar Island shortly before 1 a.m. Mr. Mendes was also cited for refusing a chemical test.

Codie Fitzgerald, 25, of 32 Brier St., New Bedford, was charged with possession of marijuana (first offense) after police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Crossings Court shortly before noon.

Friday, July 31

Kaila E. Johnson, 18, of 23 Gildas Lane, was charged with driving a vehicle without the owner’s consent after being arrested on a warrant at the police station shortly after 4 p.m.

Sunday. Aug. 2

Nicholas C. Bitsis, 28, of 21 Rich St., Rumford, was charged with driving while intoxicated (first offense) after being pulled over for a traffic violation on West Main Road at Corys Lane around 12:20 a.m.

Alan J. Whittaker, 29, of 4 South Drive, was charged with violating a no-contact order (third offense) after being pulled over for a traffic violation on West Main Road at Melville School around 3:30 p.m. Police said one of the vehicle’s occupants was a 30-year-old Portsmouth man with whom Mr. Whittaker had a no-contact order.

Monday, Aug. 3

Jose Mayancelaminchal, 30, of 34 Cherry St., Brockton, Mass., was charged with driving with an expired license (first offense) after he was pulled over for a traffic violation on East Main Road at Chase Lane around 4:30 p.m.
