The end of last week featured another set of impressive wins by respective Mt. Hope High School sports squads.

Boys' volleyball
In Providence, the Mt. Hope boys' volleyball team secured a 3-2 victory over former Division III foe turned D-II opponent Juanita Sanchez.

The Huskies won by the scores of 20-25, 27-25, 25-13, 23-25 and 15-6. Matt Moran had six kills, five blocks and two aces. Nathan Fisher had a team-best 15 kills along with 11 digs and a pair of aces. Jacob Betres led the locals with 14 digs, adding four aces and seven spikes. Setter Dylan DeOliveira had 30 assists and 13 digs.

The locals improved to 3-1 overall and remained 2-0 in league play at the time.

Boys' lacrosse
The MHHS boys' lacrosse club improved to 5-1 overall and remained undefeated in Division III play after the Huskies closed the week with a 12-5 win over Coventry after building leads of 5-2, 9-2 and 11-4 through three periods.

Charlie Knapman led the way with five goals. Aedan Nelson had four. Will Stimson, Brayden Vales and Aidan Pereira added one apiece. Ethan Labollita made 11 stops in the Mt. Hope net.

Softball
The Mt. Hope softball side dropped its fourth Division II outing in a row, this one, 18-1, to rival Barrington to close last week. Ava Waddell drove in Hailey Ferreira, who walked, to account for the lone Huskies' run. Waddell, Comeau, and Sofia Haberman each had one hit for the locals.

Baseball
Things started well for Mt. Hope baseball nine as the hosts scored three times in the bottom of the first inning against North Kingstown. But the visiting Skippers scored five of their own in the second and kept on plating tallies en route to a 14-10 triumph in a Division I outing.

Ethan Santerre scored three times, had three hits and two RBI for the locals. Logan Dubois also drove in a pair on two hits. Rhys Davies had two RBI, scored twice and had three knocks as the Huskies fell to 0-3 in the league.
