United States Navy veteran had wide-ranging interests and hobbies

William P. Barnowski Jr., 73, of Bristol and formerly of Warren, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018 at Miriam Hospital. He was the husband of the late Joan (Ellis) Barnowski.

He was born in Pittsburgh, PA., a son of the late William P. and Josephine (Szal) Barnowski Sr.

An electrician for Walco Electric for many years before retiring, he was a US Navy veteran .

Mr. Barnowski had lived in Bristol for over three years, coming from Warren. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and a member of the East Bay Bass Association.

Mr. Barnowski enjoyed building and flying model airplanes. He also enjoyed painting and reading, and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots.

Mr. Barnowski is survived by his children, Norman Barnowski and his wife Cindy of Warren, Warren Barnowski and his wife Maria of Warren, Beth Martin and her husband Todd of Swansea, and Susan Dumkuski and her husband Robert of Warren. He was the brother of Judith "Babe" Beruh of Pittsburgh, PA., Valerie "Sparkle" Carpellotti of McKees Rocks, PA., and Barbara Elms of Louisiana.

Mr. Barnowski was the grandfather of Michael Barnowski, Jennifer Barnowski, Nikole Gouveia, Victoria Gouveia, Dalton Gouveia, Evangelina Martin, Brandon Barnowski, Cory Barnowski, Kyle Dumkuski, Aarin Dumkuski, Jacob Dumkuski, Jordan Dumkuski and Robbie Dumkuski Jr.

He was the great-grandfather of Scarlett Grimes, Reese Grimes and Kayden Grimes.

He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours on Sunday December 9, 2018 from 10 a.m. to noon at Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, RI.
