From Westport Rivers Vineyard & Winery come good early reviews for this year’s grapes and high praise for wines made with those picked last year.
With the harvest and crush complete, the vineyard’s Bill Russell said he is quite pleased with the young wines.
"I expect this 2015 vintage to be bright and crisp and the aromas are lovely, if a little less adventurous than the 2014’s,” he said.
He invites people to stop in for a smell and taste of “the amazing 2014 vintage … The wines are maturing beautifully and there are several that have won significant awards. “
For instance, in the recent World Value Wine Challenge (the largest professional tasting of wines under $20 on the planet), “we got amazing recognition for the 2014 vintage, iincluding three wines in the Top Ten in the World listing.”
