Westport Police confirmed Monday that they have arrested a Town of Dartmouth employee on charges of rape and indecent assault and battery on a person over age 14.
The accused, Kevin Nunes, 48, of North Dartmouth, is an employee of the Town of Dartmouth Water Department.
Westport Detective Sergeant Christopher Dunn said that, due to the nature of the charges, he could not comment further on the particulars of the investigation except that Dartmouth Police assisted in the investigation led by Westport Detective Jeffrey Majewski.
The District Attorney conducted a dangerousness hearing at which Mr. Nunes was deemed to be dangerous. He was released on $5,000 cash bail, GPS monitoring bracelet, curfew 8 pm-6 am, and no contact with any victim or witnesses.
