They'd hoped to open in November, but Shauna and Andrew Ferry were finally able to unlock the doors to Westport Dairy last week — and they were slammed.
The dairy, on Gifford Road, is Westport's first retail dairy operation, and the only one in town that sells locally pasteurized and homogenized milk products. While their family's Pine Hill Dairy operation sells raw milk (Westport's only) on Pine Hill Road, the Gifford location concentrates on pasteurized milk, flavored milk and drinkable yogurt made on site at a new facility behind the retail store.

"It's been great so far," Shauna said Thursday morning. "We've been busy."
