Westport authorities probe dog's death

Westport Animal Control officers are looking for more information on the owner of a dog found dead in a pillowcase at the Brookside Conservation Area last Sunday.

The dog was a female mixed breed. Animal control officials had no further information on the animal, but are seeking information on the owner. If you have any, contact the department at 774-264-5129.

The Brookside Conservation Area covers just under 10 acres of land and hiking trails, and is managed by the Westport Land Conservation Trust.

Monday, May 15

A caller from Hix Bridge Road lodged animal complaints just before 9 a.m.

A caller from Route 99 reported a motor vehicle violation at 9:27 a.m.

A 911 caller reported an accident on State Road at 2:49 p.m.

Police tried but were unable to serve restraining orders on Plymouth Boulevard at 3:11 p.m. and Old Bedford Road at 9:37 p.m. However, they were successful on their second attempt at Plymouth Boulevard at 9:09 p.m.

A caller from Briggs Road reported a civil dispute at 3:40 p.m.

A Reed Road resident complained of identity fraud at 4:28 p.m.

A 911 caller reported a breaking and entering on Reed Road at 6:46 p.m.

Police pulled over four vehicles, and issued four citations, throughout the course of the day.

Tuesday, May 16

Police served a restraining order on State Road at 6:53 a.m.

A Hix Bridge Road resident reported larceny, forgery or fraud just before 8 a.m.

Kasie Fabiano, 40, of 26 East Beach Road, was charged with being a fugitive from justice after police were called at 3:15 p.m. to assist another law enforcement agency on East Beach Road.

A 911 caller reported an accident on Hemlock Street at 4:46 p.m. Another, at State Road and Route 88, as called in at 7:20 p.m.

Police did not report pulling over any vehicles throughout the course of the day.

Wednesday, May 17

A 911 caller reported an accident on Old Colony Road at 12:45 a.m.'Another, with injuries, was reported on Route 195 at 3:20 p.m., and a third, also with injuries, on Beeden Road at 7:05 p.m.

Police were asked to keep the peace on State Road at 10:06 a.m. A similar call came in from Sodom Road at 10:29 a.m.

A Sodom Road resident filed an animal complaint at 10:19 a.m.

A Cornell Road resident reported larceny, forgery or fraud at 2:22 p.m.

A State Road resident reported assault at 4:06 p.m.

Police pulled over eight vehicles, and issued seven citations, throughout the course of the day.

Thursday, May 18

A caller reported a suspicious person on State Road at 7:43 a.m.

A 911 caller reported an accident with injuries on American Legion Highway at 9:52 a.m. Another was called in from State Road and Broden Street at 1:30 p.m.

An R Drive resident reported harassment at 2:13 p.m.

A Horseneck Road resident lodged animal complaints at 8:42 p.m.

A caller reported a suspicious person on State Road at 9:51 p.m.

Police pulled over seven vehicles, and issued six citations, throughout the course of the day.

Friday, May 19

A 911 caller reported an accident with injuries on American Legion Highway, at Sanford Road, at 6:43 a.m.

Police tried but were unable to serve a restraining order on Faulkner Street at 6:54 p.m.

Daize F. Weinhardt, 49, of 172 Dean St., Apt. 12, Taunton, was charged with operating under the influence of liquor, after police received a call about a motor vehicle violation on Sanford Road at 7:24 p.m.

A caller reported a motor vehicle violation on Route 195 at 10:33 p.m.

A caller to 911 reported an accident with injuries on Route 195 at 10:41 p.m.

A caller reported a suspicious person on State Road at 11:28 p.m.

Police pulled over vehicles, and issued citations, throughout the course of the day.

Police did not report pulling over any vehicles throughout the course of the day.

Saturday, May 20

A 911 caller reported a disturbance on Route 88 at 2:15 p.m.

Police assisted a disabled motorist after getting a call from Route 88 at 2:15 p.m. A similar call came in from Route 88 at 3:46 p.m.

A Hix Bridge Road resident reported identity fraud at 4:41 p.m.

A 911 caller reported an accident with injuries on State Road at 5:17 p.m.

Police pulled over one vehicle, but issued no citations, throughout the course of the day.

Sunday, May 21

A Kirby Road resident called in a neighbor dispute at 7:05 a.m.

A 911 caller reported a disturbance on Briggs Road at 9:33 a.m.

A Tickle Road resident lodged animal complaints at 11:23 a.m.

A 911 caller reported an accident on State Road just after noon.

A 911 caller reported a car fire on State Road at 5:14 p.m.

Police pulled over two vehicles, but issued no citations, throughout the course of the day.
