Warren police are investigating an alleged sexual assault by an Uber driver. Warren Deputy Police Chief Roy Borges said a West Street woman and a male companion called the online ride service to get a lift from Newport to Middletown, and then to Warren. After the driver dropped off the male passenger in Middletown and continued to Warren to drop off the woman, she told police she fell asleep but was awoken in front of her house by the driver, who had his hand up her dress. The woman screamed at the driver, jumped out of the car and called police. Deputy Chief Roy Borges said detectives are investigating the complaint.
