Warren police raid yields marijuana, guns and cash
Alexander Fruci, 28, ordered held without bail on felony charges
A Warren man faces several felony charges after a police raid at his home Friday, Jan. 22 uncovered dozens of marijuana plants and more than a pound of prepared marijuana, eight weapons and several thousand dollars in cash.
Alexander C. Fruci, 28, of 250 Market St., Apt. A, was arrested after police armed with a search warrant raided his apartment at 5:40 p.m. Friday. Lt. Christopher Perrault said officers found 59 marijuana plants, more than a pound of picked marijuana, growing equipment, $2,512 in cash, two assault rifles, one hunting rifle, five handguns and a bulletproof vest. Police developed a case and got a warrant after getting a complaint about drug activity in the residence.
"He was held without bail due to the severity of the charges" after being arraigned before a justice of the peace, Sgt. Perrault said Monday.
Mr. Fruci faces felony charges of the manufacture, delivery or possession, with intent to distribute, a Schedule I/II controlled substance, first offense, and possession of firearms while delivering or manufacturing a controlled substance.
Mr. Fruci is scheduled to appear for a pre-arraignment conference in District Court Monday, May 3.
