The following is a synopsis of the Warren Police log from Monday, Oct. 21-Sunday, Oct. 27

Monday, Oct. 21
The morning began for the Warren Police Department with a call of an animal complaint on Water Street at 9:18 a.m. where the responding officer reported the loose canine was retrieved by the owner with no further issues.

Similarly, no further issues were reported after a WPD officer answered a harassment call on Water and Bridge Street at 10:51 a.m. A contractor working at a site was engaged in a dispute with the owner of a neighboring property. The officer spoke with the complainant and the matter was resolved.

A domestic dispute call at 3:07 p.m. led to the eventual arrest of a 43-year-old Barrington woman on charges of domestic violence - simple assault and/or battery - 1st offense and domestic violence - disorderly conduct - 1st offense after police responded to the scene on Main Street. The incident began over the whereabouts of the woman's phone. The woman was arraigned and transported to Rhode Island Hospital for evaluation.

One of the persons involved in a reported motor vehicle accident involving a motorist and bicyclist on Market Street at 4:12 p.m. refused treatment. The location was cleared with no further action necessary.

Police responded to a report of a civil dispute on Wood Street at 6:54 p.m. The caller said a female party was harassing his family. She was upset that they may be adopting another canine. The responding officer noted it was an ongoing neighbor dispute and advised each to stay away from each other.

A busy Monday came to an end with WPD officers responding to the scene on Barden Lane where they arrested an 18-year-old male town resident on an outstanding warrant for the following charges: domestic violence - vandalism - 1st offense and domestic violence - disorderly conduct - 1st offense. He was arraigned and released.

Tuesday, Oct. 22
At 10:09 a.m. police responded to a call of a suspicious person on Sunset Court. The caller reported a male party knocked on her door and proceeded to go into her backyard. Upon arrival, the responding officer walked the location and also spoke with a a landscaper in the area who stated a pest control company was going door to door.

No officers responded, but a motorist self-reported a car accident on Child Street at 2:36 p.m. The caller described the incident as minor with no visible damage to either vehicle. Caller requested the accident be logged should she or the other operator decide to file a report at a later time.

Officers answered a disorderly conduct call on Wood Street at 9:07 p.m. where a 32-year-old male town resident was eventually arrested on said charge. He was arraigned and released.

Wednesday, Oct. 23
At 10:57 a.m., a male party entered WPD headquarters to report an erratic/aggressive operator of a motor vehicle. The party said the driver almost struck him while waiting to cross Child Street. The operator then exchanged
words with the bicyclist and showed him his middle finger.

WPD dispersed a group walking into a wooded area near Nobert Street. Several parties were spotted south of Brown Street on the National Grid Property. Police advised the parties to clear out by the next day.

An officer responded to a report of suspicious activity near Joseph Drive. The caller reports drones being flown close to her residence. The responding officer pointed out the lights in the sky were coming from planes not drones.

Thursday, Oct. 24
At the conclusion of a motor vehicle stop at Main and Luther Streets at 9:39 a.m., a 42-year-old Fall River man was arrested on charges of obstructing officer in execution of duty and resisting legal or illegal arrest.

At 11:40 p.m., police eventually arrested a 34-year-old Bristol woman on charges of DUI of liquor - blood alcohol concentration unknown - 1st offense and refusal to submit chemical test. Officers were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident, a roll-over, at Metacom Avenue and Kickemuit Road. The operator was found out of the vehicle and conscious. After refusal, the woman was taken into custody, arraigned and released into the custody of a friend.

Friday, Oct. 25
Town public safety personnel were dispatched to the scene of a small fire on a utility pole located on Main Street and Sowamsett Avenue just after noontime on Friday, Oct. 25.
The fire actually extinguished itself after members of the Warren Police and Fire Departments arrived on the scene just after 12:25 p.m., according to WPD Lieutenant Christopher Perreault.
Perreault said officers found there were also two electrical wires which had broke free and were lying on the ground. WFD firefighters were at the scene as a precaution.
Perreault said the dislodged wires have caused some outages in the area. Main Street remains open in both directions. Rhode Island Energy was advised of the situation and was expected to arrive shortly to the scene.
WFD Chief Jim Sousa said two "primary lines" came down for an undermined reason. He added RI Energy was already working to remedy the matter. He said the company estimated power was shortly expected to return to most if not all of the just over 1,900 customers affected by around 2 p.m.

Later in the day, at 7:37 p.m., officers answered multiple calls of a motor vehicle accident on Metacom Avenue and Overhill Road. There was air bag deployment. DPW was notified of the stop signs. Two persons involved in the accident refused treatment.

Sunday, Oct. 27
Officers responded to a noise complaint on Ellis Avenue at 6:51 p.m. The caller reported loud construction had been going on since 7 a.m. The officer reported the contractor was finishing up on the roof now and were advised of the 10 p.m. noise curfew. The officer took a reading, 62.4 decibels, which was within the allowable limit.

Police eventually made an arrest at the end of a domestic call at 9:01 p.m. on Water Street. A 32-year-old Fall River man was taken into custody on the following charges: domestic violence - simple assault and/or battery - 1st offense; domestic violence - disorderly conduct - 1st offense; and resisting legal or illegal arrest. Upon arrival, officers were told by a female an ex-boyfriend was argumentative and refused to leave. He eventually fled the location on foot. A WPD officer tracked down the suspect. He was later arraigned, released and transported back to his residence.
