Warren police logs: Rash of DUI arrests this week

Monday, Sept. 9

Carlos A. Simao, 54, of Bristol, was charged with driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of his license, third or subsequent offense, after police pulled him over at Main and Franklin streets at 8:34 a.m.

David D. Ferrara, 63, of Providence, was arrested on a Rhode Island Superior Court warrant after police investigated a suspicious person whose description matched that of one related to an earlier stolen bicycle report. Police stopped Mr. Ferrara at the corner of Main and Washington streets just before 12:30 p.m.

A bicyclist called police to report coming by a group of juveniles using vulgar language and racial slurs. Police caught up with them at Main and Campbell streets and spoke to them.

Police dispersed a group of juveniles loitering on Brown Street at 4:11 p.m.

A Main Street woman who had had too much to drink called just after 8:30 p.m. to request an ambulance. She was taken to the hospital.

Tuesday, Sept. 10

Police investigated a report of a group of people trying to get into a Metacom Avenue building just after 7:30 a.m. It turned out to be employees having issues with the door.

A walker on the East Bay Bike Path turned in a $20 bill found earlier that day.

Kristin Goddard, 35, of Providence, was arrested on a Rhode Island Superior Court warrant after police got a call about a disturbance at Main and Franklin streets at 11:41 p.m.

Wednesday, Sept. 11

Police restored the peace after getting a call about people argui9ng at Cole and Croade streets at 7:48 a.m.

Police transported at least one person to the hospital after they broke up an argument between an intoxicated man and woman on Main Street just after 12:30 p.m.

Police searched for but could not locate a woman reportedly taking drugs at Metacom Avenue and Franklin Street just after 4 p.m.

Thursday, Sept. 12

A Roseland Avenue man reported losing his cell phone.

A caller reported a person texting and driving erratically on Market Street. Police could not locate the car.

Police assisted a motorist who locked herself out of her car, with her children inside, just before 3 p.m. on Asylum Road.

Uriah K. Zoegar, 21, of Providence, was charged with driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of his license, third or subsequent offense, and reckless driving/drag racing/eluding police, after police pulled him over on Company Street at 4:01 p.m.

Barbara Alamo, 65, of 781 Main St., was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, first offense, and refusal to submit to a chemical test, after a minor motor vehicle accident on Massasoit Avenue called in at 6:39 p.m.

Friday, Sept. 13

Juan J. Rodas Morataya, 35, of Cranston, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, first offense, and refusal to submit to a chemical test, after police pulled him over at Market and Handy streets at 3:12 a.m.

A window was smashed, and a package stolen from, a car parked at State and Water streets, the owner told police.

Police spoke to a skateboarder reported going in and out of the road on Main Street, near Market.

Police received a fireworks complaint from Wood Street at about 6:45 p.m.

Eric Rodriguez, 34, of Providence, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, first offense, and refusal to submit to a chemical test, after police pulled him over on Main Street at 8:55 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 14

An officer reached out to a South Grove Avenue man whose lost wallet had been handed in earlier by a Good Samaritan.

A juvenile reported being assaulted by another; police took him home and spoke to the other’s parent.

Christopher M. Glazzard, 62, of 66 Joyce St., Apt. 22 was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, first offense, and refusal to submit to a chemical test, after police pulled him over at Joyce and Cole streets at 8:19 p.m.

Sunday, Sept. 15

Police got a complaint about a large group of motorcyclists speeding down Water Street and ignoring stop signs.

Police were called to Market Street just before 5 p.m. for a report of neighbors arguing amongst themselves.

Rosco Stanzione, 31, of 13 Thompson St., was arrested on a Rhode Island Superior Court warrant after police pulled him over on Union Street just after 8:30 p.m.

Monday, Sept. 16

Mark S. Durand, 25, of Riverside, was picked up on a warrant for two counts of violating a no contact order.
