Warren police logs: Man charged with drug possession

Monday, Feb. 17

A woman called police to report finding a pocket knife in her son’s home. She wanted police aware of the knife as a toddler is in the house.

A caller told police that a person might be drinking alcohol in a car parked on Market Street. Police checked it out and found no problem.

Thomas P. Olean, 34, of Barrington, was charged with possession of narcotics following a cart stop on Main Street at 8:14 p.m.

Tuesday, Feb. 18

A caller reported suspicious women walking around the neighborhood, ringing doorbells. Police spoke to them; they were Jehovah’s Witnesses.

A Ridgeway Drive caller told police that her neighbor was approached by a man in a white utility van who told her to get in, before taking off toward Metacom Avenue.

Wednesday, Feb. 19

A caller asked for police help in evicting a tenant from a Metacom Avenue apartment.

A caller complained that a young girl was climbing on gravestones at the old cemetery on north Main Street.

A Wood Street woman reported getting into an argument with her husband.

A Locust Terrace Avenue resident reported that packages delivered earlier in the day were missing.

Police advised a man that he’d been the attempted victim of a scam after he called them to report receiving suspicious text messages.

Police pulled over a driver reported swerving over yellow lines and running redd lights on Market Street.

A caller from Main Street reported seeing drug activity taking place.

Thursday, Feb. 20

Matthew P. Klassner, 24, of 346 Child St., second floor, was charged with vandalism/malicious injury to property, after a caller to 911 reported that he had just thrown a rock through her car’s window.

A Child Street woman reported being harassed.

Friday, Feb. 21

Elizabete Vieira, 40, of 119 Water St., was charged with driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of her license, third or subsequent offense, after being involved in an accident at Child and Brady streets at 1:26 p.m.

Alex B. Correia, 21, of 385 Metacom Ave., Apt. 2E, was arrested on a Rhode Island Superior Court warrant following a car stop on Rosa Boulevard at 9:58 p.m.

Saturday, Feb. 22

A Davis Street man reported that his apartment had been broken into the night before. Police noted that several pieces of mail were allegedly taken by the man’s ex-girlfriend.

Sunday, Feb. 23

William Nichol M. Rodrigues, 33, of Bristol, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, first offense, and refusal to submit to a chemical test, after police pulled him over on Main Street, near Truman Avenue, at 12:41 a.m.

Ismael Batista, 24, of Providence, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, first offense, BAC .1 to .15, after police pulled him over on Metacom Avenue, near Adams Lane, at 2:08 a.m.

A Manning Street man who said he’d been drinking all day and didn’t feel well asked for, and received, a ride to Rhode Island Hospital.

A Harris Avenue woman called police after a squirrel became stuck in her wood stove pipe. The animal control officer was unable to free the animal and suggested a pest control agency.

An Asselin Street man told police about the theft of personal documents from his computer.

A staff member at a nursing facility on Barker Avenue reported the theft of money from a patient.

Christine A. Freitas, 40, of Providence, was arrested on a Rhode Island Superior Court warrant.

Monday, Feb. 24

Ginger Dimuccio, 58, of 18 Wood St., third floor, was charged with driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of her license, third or subsequent offense, after police pulled her over on Franklin Street at 5:08 a.m.
