Warren police logs: Four domestic violence arrests

A Dyer Street woman called police after she heard a male voice, possibly a child, calling for help from an area of woods nearby. Police checked it out but found nothing amiss.

A caller complained about a large group of kids playing basketball at Burr’s Hill.

A Homestead Avenue woman told police she’d seen a fox around the neighborhood, and believed it might be sick.

Tuesday, May 12

A Wood Street woman told police that while she was walking her dog on the bike path, a passer-by pepper sprayed the pet.

A Main Street woman reported being assaulted.

A woman brought in a wallet she’d found at Main and Locust Terrace.

A Scott Court woman reported a sick or injured fox in her garden.

A woman complained that she had been picked out of a Child Street business because she had a service dog.

A man who described himself as a YouTuber said he was being harassed with inappropriate videos and emails. Police told him it wasn’t a criminal matter.

Erick A. Hartnett, 34, of 136 Main St., Apt. 1, was picked up on warrants for domestic violence-assault with a dangerous weapon in a dwelling house, domestic assault by strangulation, domestic violence - criminal violation of a no contact order, domestic violence - simple assault and/or battery, and domestic violence - disorderly conduct. He was also charged with esisting arrest, and was taken to the ACI.

A passer-by reported hearing yelling on Market Street, possibly a person calling for help. Police looked for the source with no results.

Lisa M. Willard, 31, of 118 Water St., Apt. 2R, was charged with domestic violence - simple assault and/or battery, domestic violence - vandalism, and domestic violence - disorderly conduct, after police were called to Water Street just before 9:30 p.m. by a caller who said she broke into his apartment and assaulted him.

Wednesday, May 13

A caller complained about kids running through yards on John Street.

Police mediated a landlord/tenant dispute on Metacom Avenue.

A caller complained about a large group playing basketball at Burr’s Hill.

Police dispersed a small group of people gathered on Water Street in violation of the governor’s orders.

Police received multiple calls about an intoxicated man who had fallen into the roadway on King Street multiple times. He was taken to the hospital.

A Libby Lane man complained about his neighbor’s music.

A caller heard what sounded like a woman screaming near Roseland Avenue. Turns out it might have been an animal.

Thursday, May 14

Police caught up with the operator of a moped, who had driven it onto the bike path near Fatima Drive.

Angelo M. Costa, 59, of 18 Wood St., Apt. 3, was charged with driving under the influence of liquor, first offense, and refusal to submit to a chemical test, after he struck a parked car on Wood Street.

A skateboarder was transported to the hospital after suffering a head injury just after 1:30 p.m. on Child Street.

Police dispersed two women reportedly fighting in a Third Street yard.

Fire crews were able to free two people stuck in a Main Street elevator, about 15 minutes after the call came in.

Friday, May 15

Joseph Rioux, 44, of 89 Market St., Apt. 1, was charged with domestic violence - vandalism (third or subsequent offense) and domestic violence - disorderly conduct, after police got a call from Market Street that thee was a man banging on the door.

Peter H. Remington, 69, of 56 Warren Ave., third floor, was charged with domestic violence - simple assault and/or battery, and domestic violence - disorderly conduct, after a woman called at 9:19 a.m. to report being assaulted.

Multiple callers complained about fireworks in the Wood Street area.

Saturday, May 16

A Main Street resident reported being harassed over Social Media.

A security guard on Water Street reported that an unruly customer at a restaurant was not abiding by the establishment’s no dining in the area rules. She told police that the man was arguing with her and would not leave. Police caught up with him and told him to leave.

A Long Lane man complained about a neighbor’s loud music.

A Croade Street woman complained about a large gathering and loud music.

Sunday, May 17

A Sisson Street man requested a ride to detox.

A woman turned in a wallet she had found on Child Street.

A caller told police there was a man without a mask selling sodas to passers-by on the bike path, near Park Street. Police went out but he was gone on arrival.
