Warren police logs: Five arrested on DUI charges

Tuesday, Aug. 14

A resident turned in ammunition that had belonged to her late sister. 

Police dispersed a group of bike path walkers near Brown Street, after officers received a call that they were blocking the path and making it difficult for others to pass.

A caller complained about a person walking a dog at the Warren Town Beach. Police checked it out and reported all was OK; the dog was a service animal.

A Ridgeway Drive man called police after spotting a sick fox in his backyard. It fled into the woods before police arrived.

Police received a 911 call about two women arguing on Davis Street. It turned out to be an argument over clothing.

A girl reported receiving harassing phone messages.

Police dispersed a panhandler from Main Street after receiving a call.

Rescue crews tended to a man on Railroad Avenue who’d gotten a fishing hook stuck in his hand.

Wednesday, Aug. 15

A Metacom Avenue woman called police after finding her car’s tires slashed. She also reported receiving harassing text messages.

Someone sprayed graffiti on the Burr’s Hill bandshell. Soon thereafter, another graffiti call came in from Railroad Avenue.

Items were reported stolen from a car on Buffalo Avenue.

A Main Street man reported finding fraudulent charges on his credit card bill.

Police picked up Andrew E. Stanzione, 30, of 388 Metacom Ave., Apt. 1, on a warrant for domestic strangulation, domestic felony assault, domestic simple assault/battery and domestic disorderly conduct.

Thursday, Aug. 16

Richard J. Falco, 25, of North Providence, was charged with driving under the influence of liquor or drugs, first offense (BAC .15 or greater) after he called police at 4:29 a.m. to report that he had just gotten into an accident at Water and Bowen streets.

Robert J. Pedretti, 35, of Bristol, was charged with driving under the influence of liquor or drugs, first offense (BAC .15 or greater), after police pulled him over at Main and Union streets at 8 a.m.

More graffiti was found on a flagpole at the Burr’s Hill area.

A goat got loose on Ridgeway Drive.

An injured coyote was spotted on Hanley Lane.

A Taddy Avenue resident reported being harassed by a neighbor.

Police got a call from Libby Lane about the theft of a container of quarters.

Police assisted a motorist who ran out of gas at Campbell and Main streets.

An Overhaul Road woman reported being harassed.

Friday, Aug. 17

Police found no lights on and nobody home when they responded to Union Street for a report of a man and woman arguing.

Cristiano D. Pereira, 31, of Pawtucket, was charged with driving under the influence of liquor or drugs, first offense (BAC .1 to .15), after police pulled him over at Main and Greene streets just before 4 a.m.

An Asselin Street resident called police after a woman picked his vegetable garden clean. In other crimes and floral misdemeanors, someone reported the theft of a flower pot from Kinnicutt Avenue a short time later.

A West Street woman reported being assaulted by an Uber driver.

Tires on a car parked on Franklin Street were reportedly slashed.

A Market Street woman reported the violation of a court order after her child’s father contacted her on Facebook.

A caller complained about two people riding on a motorized scooter on the East Bay Bike Path.

Saturday, Aug. 18

A caller reported a man pacing back and forth on Main Street at 1:27 a.m., asking for cigarettes.

William M. Egge, 24, of East Providence, was charged with driving under the influence of liquor or drugs, first offense (BAC .15 or greater), after police pulled him over on Main Street at 1:37 a.m.

A caller told police that it looked like a woman driving on Metacom Avenue was trying to run over a man. Police arrived and took the man to the bus stop. The woman was gone.

A car was vandalized on Union Street.

Fire crews went out as a precautionary measure, after a house on Taddy Avenue was struck by lightning. The home sustained no structural damage.

Sunday, Aug. 19

Police got a call about people arguing over a parking spoon Union Street. Police noted the dispute arose after private towing company dropped a car directly in front of a driveway.

Police were called to Cole Street for a child custody matter.

Police dispersed an unwanted man from a Warren Avenue address after receiving a call.

Monday, Aug. 20

Jaime B. Gilbert, 34, of Bristol, was charged with driving under the influence of liquor or drugs, second offense (BAC .15 or greater), after police pulled him over at Rosa Boulevard and Metacom Avenue at 2:26 a.m.
