Warren police: Local man arrested twice in two days

Monday, Feb. 10

A driver was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with chest pains following the collision with a utility pole on Child Street just before 8 a.m.

A caller reported the theft of packages from a Main Street address.

A caller told police that there was a car parked, running, off Metacom Avenue, with a man inside. The man told police he was taking a two-hour break before a business meeting.

Steven J. Ragonesi, 63, of 25 Davis St., was charged with driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of his license, second offense, after police pulled him over on Metacom Avenue at 12:24 p.m.

Police were called to Kickemuit Middle School for a fight between two students. School Resource Officer Joel Morrissette said a 14-year-old girl reported being assaulted by another 14-year-old in an altercation over a boy. The case was refered to juvenile detectives for prosecution.

A Long Lane woman reported seeing a suspicious looking man lurking around her home, on her surveillance cam.

A Main Street man reported that someone had just stolen several mirrors and fireplace mantles that were outside his home. He told police that a friend was following the driver of the car that took them, into Barrington.

The caller reported a few minutes later that the driver that took the items was headed back to return them; it was a misunderstanding, he told police.

Tuesday, Feb. 11

Ginger DiMuccio, 58, of 18 Wood St., third floor, was charged with driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of her license, second offense, after police pulled her over on Arlington Avenue at 5:03 a.m.

James R. Dinova, 41, of 34 Croade St., Apt. 2, was arrested on a warrant for domestic vandalism/malicious injury to property.

Wednesday, Feb. 12

Daniel V. Waters, 31, of East Providence, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, refusal to submit to a chemical test, obstructing an officer and driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of his license, second offense, after police pulled him over on Market Street at 1:21 a.m.

Items were reported stolen from an apartment in the Kickemuit Village complex on Libby Lane.

A woman went to police headquarters to see about starting a wayward child petition.

A Lincoln Avenue woman stopped in to headquarters to talk about a neighbor living in a trailer.

James R. Dinova, 41, of 34 Croade St., Apt. 2, was picked up on a warrant for violating a no contact order.

A passer-by flagged down an officer to report an erratic driver on Market Street. Police alerted Bristol police.

Thursday, Feb. 13

An officer stopped to check on the well-being of a pedestrian standing in the rain on Main Street just before 2 a.m. All was OK.

A caller complained about a man clad in black jacket and black hat yelling on Liberty Street just before 5:30 a.m.

A Main Street woman reported the possible sexual assault of her daughter, a juvenile. Police are investigating.

Joe G. Fernandes, 45, of Pawtucket, was charged by Barrington police with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol and refusal to submit to a chemical test, after a caller reported seeing him driving erratically in Warren, striking a street sign and crosswalk sign before heading into Barrington. Police here alerted authorities in Barrington, and officers in that town pulled him over on Route 114 just before 4 p.m.

A Detroit Avenue woman asked police to remove an unwanted party, but ultimately decided to let the person stay.

Friday, Feb. 14

Rescue crews took a man to the hospital after a caller from a Main Street establishment reported that the man had been asked to leave, and he was concerned he might attempt to drive.

Eric Frank Knowles, 50, of 347 Main St., Apt. 6, was charged with violating a no contact order, third or subsequent offense, domestic simple assault/battery, third offense, and domestic disorderly conduct, after police were called by a contractor who said a woman had asked him to call police because her boyfriend was assaulting her.

A Market Street woman told police that her child had been assaulted by another juvenile.

An anonymous caller reported two men arguing on Water Street just after 9:30 p.m.

Saturday, Feb. 15

A Broad Street resident reported a stolen bicycle.

Police looked for but could not locate a man reported stumbling along Child Street at 4:20 p.m.

A Westminster Street caller reported a man dressed all in khaki sitting on her porch. Which is the bigger crime?

Sunday, Feb. 16

A caller reported seeing a loose pit bull around Kelly Street.

Members of the rescue squad reported hearing gun shots near the town beach. Police could not pinpoint the location of the shots.

A caller reported that the upstairs neighbors were slamming their doors and might be arguing. The noise turned out to be from a child’s birthday party.
