Monday, June 12
A report indicated a student was in possession of a knife at Kickemuit Middle School at 9:28 a.m.
A resident reported their license plate missing at 9:43 a.m. but found it in their driveway shortly afterwards.
I3 Broadband, Verizon and Rhode Island Energy were advised of a power line being pulled down by a truck on Stuart Street at 12:16 p.m.
Police assisted a caller on Metacom Avenue at 3:21 p.m. who requested a ride to a bus stop because of medical issues, but did not want a rescue. They obliged him in the request.
A caller on Child Street reported a cement truck driver was operating erratically. Upon catching up with the truck, police learned he was “new at driving cement trucks.” He was advised of the complaint.
A Vernon Street resident reported hearing what they thought was a gunshot around 9:31 p.m. but police found nothing in the area.
Tuesday, June 13
A caller on Main Street reported that there were two men across the street looking in her window around 8:23 p.m.
Wednesday, June 14
A syringe was found on Water Street at 9:38 a.m.
Police dispersed a man going from car to car on Main Street at 10:54 a.m. A call shortly after showed another panhandler was dispersed near Main and Croade Streets.
Police dispersed a door-to-door solar panel salesman on South Grove Avenue at 5:41 p.m.
Thursday, June 15
Police advised a person who was screaming and yelling outside a residence on Federal Street at 7:04 a.m. to quiet down.
A report of stolen AirPods was reported at 10:58 a.m. on Child Street.
Police dispersed a man who was reportedly parked in a car watching kids on the field on Child Street at 12:14 p.m.
John Valenti, 49, of 18 Baker St., Apt. #2, Warren, was arrested following a three-car collision on Market Street at 3:25 p.m. He was charged with DUI of liquor (BAC unknown), first offense, and refusal to submit to a breathalyzer. He was released later that evening.
A report of a simple assault occurring following a dispute between a landlord and tenant was reported on Dyer Street at 5:13 p.m.
Friday, June 16
A caller reported that Christmas lights hanging near Miller and Water Streets were hanging in the roadway and may have damaged their windshield at 6:44 a.m.
A cyclist who fell on Wood Street was transported to the hospital with a leg injury at 8:48 a.m.
The harbormaster was alerted that an 18’ boat was trying to tow a 30’ boat on the Warren River and was “out of control.” After the situation was brought under control, a rescue was requested for one of the boat operators who had injured their arm.
Vandalism was reported on Cutler Street at 2:38 p.m.
A man reported that a catalytic converter had been stolen on Metacom Avenue at 3:34 p.m.
A caller reported that a woman left a store on Metacom Avenue with a carriage full of items without paying. Despite a BOLO going out to Bristol PD and a vehicle being found that matched the description of the suspect’s vehicle, the suspect wasn’t identified as of 8:21 p.m.
Saturday, June 17
A man reportedly set off the alarm at the George Haile Library at 4:34 p.m. when he mistakenly thought it was open.
Sunday, June 18
RIDOT was notified after an officer reported a tree had fallen into a parking lot at the Park N’ Ride on Franklin Street.
Multiple callers reported a low-flying helicopter in the area of Child Street at 1:31 p.m. An officer reported seeing the helicopter as well, but the report offered no explanation what it was doing.
Police received a report that golf carts were driving in the street near Touisset and Maple Roads at 6:04 p.m. They didn’t find any such activity in the area.
Kenneth Lagrange, 53, of 78 Arlington Ave., Apt. #B, Warren, was arrested following an incident on Arlington Avenue at 10:25 p.m. He was charged with one count of domestic violence (violating a no contact order, 3rd+ offense). He was transported to district court the following afternoon.
