Don't worry….Bristol's stately 1810 Federal mansion, designed by Russell Warren, is not for sale. But Linden Place is hosting an estate sale-style event featuring original architectural pieces of the 1810 mansion’s balustrade and wrought iron fence.

On Saturday, Sept. 14 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Linden Place will host a one-day sale of original architectural pieces from the mansion’s balustrade.  Also for sale will be original decorative sections of the wrought iron fence that graces the front lawn of Linden Place. Both the balustrade and fence underwent extensive recreation and restoration over the past 10 years leaving behind a limited amount of truly unique architectural gems.

This sale is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own your very own piece of one of the country’s most revered Federal mansions in existence today. Each piece was hand made in the early 19th century and can be repurposed for many decorative uses both indoors and in gardens.

All proceeds go to the preservation and restoration of Linden Place and each piece is accompanied by a certificate of authentication.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
