Walter E. Guertler Jr., passed away at home surrounded by family on Friday, Nov. 15, 2019, at 79 years of age. He was foremost a family man, kind and caring. He is survived by his wife Sally, sons Walter and Jeff (Elvalicia), and six grandchildren Wyatt, Sean, Quinn, Mac, Joshua, and Abigail. He is also survived by his siblings Sally Farris, Marietta, William and John Guertler.
In his professional career Walter was president and CEO of Systems Engineering in Stoughton, Mass., and an owner of Redlefsen's in Bristol. Walter loved Oktoberfest, and annually hosted one of the most unique cultural events in Rhode Island. He was an avid sailor on his Wind Song, and a flag officer at the Barrington Yacht Club. His family is very grateful to his caregivers who supported them from Hope & Hospice and the Cancer Center RIH.
