Waldron “Bud” Marcus Huftalen passed away at the Rhode Island Veterans Home in Bristol, on Thursday, October 28, 2021, in the company of family. He was 95 years old.
Bud was born in Warren, RI on February 20, 1926, to Floyd Huftalen and Ruth Christy Huftalen. His early years were spent lobstering on Narragansett Bay with his father, uncles, and brothers.
He graduated from Warren High School in 1944 and joined the United States Navy. He served at the Naval Ammunitions and Net Depot in Seal Beach, CA and rose to the rank of Seaman First Class.
In his professional career, Bud held numerous positions in Rhode Island businesses, ultimately retiring from his role as Director of Purchasing at Park Lane Associates, in Cranston.
Bud was predeceased by both his first wife, Jean Platt Huftalen, and his second wife, Marietta Ciallella Bullock Huftalen, as well as his brothers, Floyd Huftalen, Howard B. Huftalen, Arnold H. Huftalen, George N. Huftalen and his sisters, Jean Huftalen Tucker and Esther Huftalen Bowen. He is survived by his step-daughters, Corinne Kelly (Hank), Jill Patterson (Alan), Denise Ried (Jeff) and many nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, and grand-nieces.
His family and friends would like to extend their sincere gratitude to everyone at the Rhode Island Veterans Home and especially to the nurses and staff of Delta for their role in providing outstanding care and unwavering support.
