Visit Coggeshall for 'Endless Summer' on Saturday

Posted

Coggeshall Farm Museum is hosting "Endless Summer" on Saturday, Aug. 26, a day for celebrating summer fun. Guests can participate in some family fun, historical games, and competitions. Enjoy sack races, tug of war, corn hole, and Coggeshall’s old favorites: trundling hoops and graces.

Guests can also explore the nature trail, visit with the pigs, sheep, chickens, and cows, and soak in the salt marsh farm scenery. Extend the fun with their Campfire Sing with Atwater Donnelly at 5:30 p.m. Atwater Donnelly will sing new songs and old songs, funny songs and sweet songs, and maybe a song of your own that you bring along to share. Campfire Sing is NOT included with standard daytime admission.

The event takes place from 10 a.m.  to 4 p.m. Admissions is $10 for adults, $5 for youth ages 4 to 17.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
