Tockwotton bowlers win Wii national title

The championship trophy has finally arrived! (And no, we are not talking about the AFC Championship trophy).

We are happy to announce that after 14 weeks of competition play, against 250 other communities across the country, the Tockwotton Pin Pals Wii bowling team, from our Long-Term Care Households, has won the 2017 NSL Senior Wii Bowling National Championship.

This is the second year in a row teams from Tockwotton competed in this national event. Last year, Tockwotton Pin Pals placed fourth in the country, and the River’s Edge Assisted Living team, the Waterfront Wizards, placed eighth.

The National Championships are played in seven divisions based on levels of ability. The top 32 teams in each division, as determined by their total pins after 7 weeks of play, make it to the Final Rounds, which are played in a ‘one and done’ format much like the NCAA Basketball Final Four.

In 2018, Tockwotton will once again have two teams competing for Wii Bowling glory. We encourage you to stop by and check out the residents in action!
