Barrington Shopping Center to host new businesses

Tenants are Compass real estate, Starbucks, and Ivy Rehab

The Barrington Shopping Center recently announced three new retail openings for 2023.

Starbucks will relocate to the large storefront that had previously hosted the men’s clothing retailer, JoS. A Bank. Compass real estate and Ivy Rehab will open new spaces in the center. Construction is already underway to customize the retail space for each of those tenants.

Work is also underway on a drive-through lane for the Starbucks — it will be the first restaurant in Barrington to feature a drive-through lane.

Compass is an innovative residential real estate firm that pairs the industry’s top talent with its proprietary platform.

“The company is changing how agents and clients navigate the process of finding or selling a home,” stated a press release from Paolino Properties, which owns the Barrington Shopping Center.

Ivy Rehab is a rapidly growing network of outpatient physical, occupational, speech, and ABA therapy clinics.

“The Barrington Shopping Center holds a special place in my heart,” said Joseph R. Paolino Jr., CEO and Managing Partner of Paolino Properties. “From cherished childhood memories riding my bicycle to the old Ben Franklin 5&10 cent store to now spearheading the development of the shopping center where it resided, it has been an incredible journey.

“In 2023, we are thrilled to unveil remarkable changes: the relocation of Starbucks within the center will feature a convenient drive-through window to serve its patrons. And, joining us are Compass and Ivy Rehab, offering innovative real estate services and a top-tier physical therapy clinic to meet the needs of the community. As a beloved destination in Rhode Island’s East Bay community, our family’s commitment to providing exceptional experiences at the Barrington Shopping Center remains strong and has transcended generations. We look forward to the positive impact these developments will have on our open-air center and the entire community.”

Paolino Properties is a fourth-generation, family-owned and operated real estate investment, development, and management company. It is one of the largest family-owned commercial real estate companies in New England, managing more than 40 properties at a total of nearly 3 million square feet.
