Three Barrington 16-year-olds are facing charges following separate police incidents last week.

An officer was on traffic post at about 10 p.m. on Sunday, July 26 near the White Church when he was approached by a person who said there was an underage drinking party at a Townsend Street home. Police responded to that area and found a large group of teenagers. Police charged a 16-year-old Barrington with underage possession or consumption-consumption, and underage possession or consumption-possession. He was later released to his father.

On Monday, July 16, Barrington police charged a 16-year-old Barrington boy with leaving the scene of an accident-damage to attended vehicle, following a car accident. Police received a 911 call at about 4:50 p.m. from a motorist who said her vehicle had just been rear-ended by a car driven by her nephew. The woman, a Massachusetts resident, told police her nephew had fled the area in his vehicle. A second caller told police they were following the suspect vehicle, which was traveling toward Seekonk. Barrington police radioed to Seekonk PD, who located the suspect's vehicle and ordered it over to the side of the road. Police said there was minor damage to the vehicles.

Also on July 16, Barrington police received a 911 call at 6:43 p.m. for an out of control 16-year-old girl. Officers responded to the home, and order was restored. No one was charged at the time, but later that evening, police received a second 911 call from that residence and eventually charged the girl with simple assault or battery, vandalism/malicious injury to property, disorderly conduct, and being wayward. Police said the girl, in a fit of rage, broke a TV device, smashed a hole in a wall, and spit in the face of a family member. EMTs transported the suspect to a hospital for an evaluation.
