Theresa C. Rogers, 103, of Barrington

Theresa C. (Codega) Rogers, 103, of Atria Bay Spring and Kittery, Maine, died peacefully on Monday, Dec. 2, 2019. She was the wife of the late Charles Rogers.

Born in Barrington, a daughter of the late Joseph and Maria (Lanzone) Codega, she lived in Barrington and Kittery, Maine.

Mrs. Rogers was an office manager for the former American Water Works Bristol, in Bristol for 40 years before retiring in 1979.

She is survived by a brother, Louis S. Codega of Barrington and several nieces and nephews; a step-daughter, Lynn Young of Kittery, Maine; a step-grandson, Jonathan Young and his children, Noah and Morgan. She was the sister of the late Joseph, Anthony, William and Michael Codega; Hilda Barbie, Amelia DeCesare, Phyllis Lewis, Margaret Marcoccio and Mary Codega.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held in Holy Angels Church, Maple Avenue, Barrington. Burial followed in Santa Maria del Campo Cemetery, Upland Way, Barrington. Contributions in Theresa’s memory to the Carmelite Monastery, 25 Watson Avenue, Barrington, RI 02806 would be deeply appreciated. Arrangements are by the W. Raymond Watson Funeral Home, Riverside. A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
