Theresa A. (Marshall) Bramwell, 85, passed away peacefully at Newport Hospital on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, with her children by her side. She was the wife of the late Lyle E. Bramwell for 45 years before his passing in 2003.

Born in Providence, R.I., she was the daughter of the late Quiteria (Geyer) and Adeleen P. Marshall.

Raised in Bristol, Theresa was a graduate of Colt Memorial High School, Class of 1953. She was a life-long Bristolian, with the exception of her time living in Illinois and Florida in support of her husband’s career in the U.S. Navy.

Theresa was a homemaker and worked as a factory worker at several local businesses for many years before retiring. On her free time, she enjoyed reading and word puzzles. Theresa also liked to sew and cook. She especially liked decorating cakes for family and friends.

Theresa is survived by her children, Debra A. Deveau and Steven M. Bramwell, who she referred to as “Steph.” She also leaves behind a brother, Robert M. Marshall, and many extended family and friends.

In addition to her husband Lyle and her parents, Theresa was also predeceased by her son, Michael L. Bramwell, and her sister, Marguerite Anderly.

Theresa and her family greatly appreciate the wonderful care she received from the nurses and staff at Newport Hospital and HopeHealth Hospice.

Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, are Saturday, May 8, 2021, at 8 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood St., Bristol.
