Susan Werner composes music that effortlessly slides between folk, jazz, and pop, all delivered with sassy wit and classic Midwestern charm. Throughout her expansive career, boundless versatility has emerged as a hallmark of Susan’s talent, and has proven to be a quintessential ingredient of her engrossing musical persona. Susan’s been knocking it out of the park – or concert hall – all around the US for twenty-five years. Renowned as a charismatic performer, she’s known above all for challenging herself to conquer new musical styles from folk/rock to Tin Pan Alley to gospel, country and chamber music. Doors open at 6:30 PM. Cash bar and a limited menu is available. Ample free parking, open to the general public for this show, is also available. Tickets are $20 in advance online and $25 at the door. Due to the intimate setting for the concert, seating is very limited, so advance purchase is advised which guarantees seating. Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
