Summer heating up at Burr's Hill, Warren

Posted

This week at Burr’s Hill summer camp:

The first weeks of summer camp have been a great success, with record numbers of kids this year. A few notes about what’s happening this week:

* Burr’s Hill now has full time lifeguards for the rest of summer. Changing tents are in, too. Your child may bring a bathing suit, towel and sunscreen, and supervisors will be in attendance at all times. If your child would like to bring in a smock to use during arts and crafts please write his/her name on it and send it in with them.

n One of fathers, Richard Baptista, has donated a freezer and a fridge for the summer program, and counselors are seeking donations of freezer pops for the kids to share during the day.

* The first field trip, to United Skates of America, is Wednesday, July 13. The cost is $10 per child, and transportation is provided. Busses will leave Burr's Hill Park at 9:30 a.m. and return for 3 p.m. pickup. If your child would like to play laser tag, video games, rent roller blades, or purchase food, send them with money. The $10 only pays for regular skates and admission. Payment is due by Friday, July 8.

* If you will be dropping off with out parking please drive in the last (third) entrance and go out entrance two (where the cone is). If you will be parking and walking your child in please enter entrance one and leave by entrance two. Pick up: lease park and come to the fence, the supervisors will call for your children.

n Bowling at Dudek’s is now running every Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

* The Long Jump Contest was held Friday, July 1. First place went to Kyle Smith, second
