Storm impact: Barrington schools move to distance learning

Hampden Meadows School and Nayatt School without power

Posted

Barrington Public Schools moved to distance learning today, Wednesday, Oct. 27, due to power outages and other impacts from a nor'easter.

Barrington Superintendent of Schools Michael Messore announced the shift from in-person to distance learning at about 7 a.m.

"I apologize for the late notice. We have just lost power at Hampden Meadows School and Nayatt School," Mr. Messore wrote in a district-wide email. "I have been on the roads this morning and due to the number of trees and powerlines down and to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and families, I have to move the District to a Distance Learning Day."
