Stone Church Coffeehouse hosts Rock Hearts on Saturday

This Saturday, March 25, bluegrass band Rock Hearts is set to perform at Stone Church Coffeehouse in Bristol. Formed in 2013, Rock Hearts brings together five seasoned musicians from Southern New England who love to sing and pick bluegrass, old country music, and seek out tuned from other genres to “Bluegrass-ify." 

Named an official 2021 International Bluegrass Music Association showcase band, Rock Hearts is enjoying national radio and chart activity. They are a sought after band for major festivals and recently sign with the 615 Hideaway record label in Nashville, TN. The band has released their first 615 Hideaway record label single from their new project, Wanderlust, which is receiving outstanding fanfare and radio attention.

The band consists of Joe Deetz (banjo), Alex MacLeod (vocals, guitar), Billy Thibodeau (vocals, mandolin, guitar), Austin Scelzo (fiddle) and Rick Brodsky (bass).

WHEN: Saturday, March 25, doors open at 6:45 p.m., show begins at 7:30 p.m.

WHERE: Stone Church Coffeehouse, 300 High St., Bristol

PRICING: $20 per ticket - $10 for students - Children under 5 enter free

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
