Spring Visitors Weekend at West Place Animal Sanctuary

Posted

Visit West Place Animal Sanctuary during the first public Visitors Weekend of the year! Sign up for one of 30 interactive and guided tours of the 8-acre property in Tiverton, and meet the incredible farm animal rescues who call West Place home. Visitors are welcome to picnic on the front lawn with scenic views of the Sakonnet River. Shop the spring plant sale and take home herbs and flowers grown on-site in the greenhouses. Don’t forget to stop in the gift shop for unique specialty items and hand-made crafts.

The Spring Visitors Weekend will be held rain or shine, and tours last approximately 75 – 90 minutes. Tours will sell out fast so advance registration is recommended. Dress for the weather, wear comfortable shoes or boots, and prepare for an unforgettable experience!

All donations benefit the farm animals and wildlife at West Place Animal Sanctuary, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
