Spring Vacation Art Classes for Kids at Linden Place Mansion this April

Linden Place Mansion is offering art classes the week of April vacation on Thursday, April 19 and Friday, April 20. This two-day course from 9:00am – 3:00pm is designed for young artists (ages 8-11) who like to do a variety of arts activities. Students will unleash their creativity and make fascinating discoveries while exploring the 200-year old historical mansion, grounds and carriage house. Students will learn to draw and paint in a beautiful, historical setting using a variety of materials while surrounded by exquisite artifacts and history. Taught by a professional artist and certified teacher, Joanne Murrman, activities and themes include portraits, landscapes, calligraphy, seascapes, sculpture, weaving and more!

The cost of the classes are $95 per student. Linden Place members receive a $20 discount. Class size is limited to 10 students, so be sure to register early.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
