The Barrington High School golf team opened regular season play with convincing wins over Mt. Hope and Bay View on April 25. The Eagles fired a 153, easily outscoring Mt. Hope (221) and Bay View (248).

AJ Colonna and Sean Bonneau led the way for Barrington. Each golfer finished with a 37. Cole Vieira fired a 39, followed closely by Adam Gorham who finished with a 40. Lily Dessel had a 43 and Christian Vieira finished with a 45, to round out the scoring for Barrington.

The Eagles also boasted two impressive scores that did not count toward the team event. Ian McTaggart and Ryan O’Connell, both playing as non-competing participants, finished with a 39 and 41, respectively. Coach Coale Kazounis said that while those scores did not count toward the team event, they did count for the individual season averages.

On April 26, Barrington hosted Middletown at Rhode Island Country Club, and the Eagles won easily 167-219.

Cole Vieira fired a 40 for his round, followed by Colonna who finished with a 41. Bonneau and Gorman each finished at 43, while Dessel and Christian Vieira scored 44.

Barrington’s non-competing participants also played well — Ian McTaggart fired a 41, while O’Connell finished with 44 and Claire McTaggart scored a 50.
