PORTSMOUTH — Santa Claus made his annual pilgrimage to the Portsmouth Free Public Library and was greeted like a rock star Sunday night.
And this time, he brought a little snow with him.
As usual, the big man was given an escort on a big ladder truck by the Portsmouth Fire Department. After greeting members of the cheering crowd, he led a countdown for the tree-lighting before heading inside to greet youngsters individually and hearing their wish lists for Christmas.
The library had cookies and hot chocolate on hand, and played holiday favorites to keep the atmosphere festive.
