Monday, Nov. 18

Joana M Apolinario, 35, of 27 W Evans St., Newport, was charged with domestic simple assault and/or battery, after police were called to Pelletier Lane at 12:55 a.m.

Brian J Pinto, 53, of 112 Dewolf St, New Bedford, MA, was arrested after police pulled him over on Tiverton Casino Boulevard at 10:43 p.m. He was charged with two counts of possession of a Schedule I to V controlled substance,10 grams or less, and one count of DUI of a drug, toluene or controlled substance.

Wednesday, Nov. 20

Shane P. Sturgeon, 46, of 75 Weaver St., Apt. 02721 was charged with possession of a Schedule I to V controlled substance,10 grams or less, after police stopped to talk to him on State Aveue at 6:48 p.m.

Friday, Nov. 22

Nicholas Dusablon, a 46-year-old who lives on 75 Sprague Hill Rd. in Glocester, was arrested on charges of cyberstalking and cyberharrassment on Lake St. at 6:09 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 23

Corey Cabral, 40, of 470 Stafford Road, was charged with domestic simple assault and/or battery and domestic disorderly conduct after police were called to a Stafford Road business at 11:06 p.m.

Michael L Lopes, 20, of 104 5th St.,  Apt 21, Fall River, was charged with operating under a foreign license during suspension or revocation, and one count of transporting alcoholic beverages by an underage person, after police pulled him over on Canning Boulevard at 11:18 p.m.

Sunday, Nov. 24

George W Bigelow, 77, of 30 Leger Lane, was charged with driving under the influence of liquor, BAC .15 or greater, after a caller reported an erratic driver on Fish Road at 5:27 p.m.

Monday, Nov. 25

Chelsea A Roundtree, 31, of 1399 Phillips Road, Apt. 65, New Bedford, was arrested at the Tiverton Casino at 5:45 a.m. on charges of domestic simple assault and/or battery, domestic disorderly conduct and one disorderly conduct.

Thursday, Nov. 28

Adam Tameles, 39, of 454 Main St., Cumberland, was charged with domestic simple assault and/or battery and domestic disorderly conduct, after a caller reported a domestic disturbance on Mill Street at 12:07 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 30

27-year-old Patrick J. Deminico of 160 Warren Ave. was arrested on counts of Domestic Violence- simple assault and/or battery and Domestic Violence- disorderly conduct at 12:10 p.m. on Hobson Ave.

Monday, Nov. 25

Police received two suspicious activity/vehicle calls, one on the Commons at 11:27 and a second on Rhode Island Avenue at 6:02 p.m.

Wednesday, Nov. 27

One driver was injured in a 7:40 a.m. accident at the Brownell Library. The injured driver was transported to St. Anne’s Hospital in Fall River.

A South of Commons Road resident complained of larceny, forgery or fraud.

Friday, Nov. 29

Police investigated suspicious activity on Wild Cherry Drive at 5:03 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 30

Police looked for but could not locate a man who ran from them as they investigated suspicious activity, or a vehicle, at Main and Colebrook at 1:13 a.m. Police said the man, described as a black male about 5'9", wearing a black sweatshirt and checkered sweatpants, fled on foot. They contacted Tiverton and Westport police.

Noah R. Scallin, of 72 Oak Forrest Drive, 19, was charged with DUI of liquor, BAC unknown, first offense, following an accident on Warrens Point Road at 5:20 a.m. Three poles were reported down, and crews from Rhode Island Energy came to the scene.

A West Main Road resident complained at 4:34 p.m. that a neighbor's dog was not on a leash.

Sunday, Dec. 1

A Pottersville Road resident called police at 4:11 p.m. to report that there was a dog in the yard.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
