Rosemarie A. (Rodrigues) Mello, 83, of Tiverton, RI passed away on Oct. 8, 2022. She was the widow of John C. Mello.

Born in Tiverton, she was the daughter of the late Anna (Cotta) and Manuel J. Rodrigues. She was a communicant of St. Madeleine Sophie Parish and had formerly worked in Food Service for the State of RI at the Veterans' Home.

She is survived by a daughter Lynn Marie Mello (Husband John) and a son John C. Mello II (wife Josephine). She was the mother of the late Paul Mello. She also leaves seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her siblings Belmira Carvalho, Anna White, Armand Rodrigues and Louis Rodrigues. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 pm on Thursday, October 13th. Her Funeral will be held on Friday, October 14th at 10 am from the Pocasset Memorial Funeral Home, 462 Main Road, Tiverton, RI, with an 11am Mass at St. Madeleine Church on Lake Road, Tiverton at 10 am. Burial to follow at Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery, Little Compton. See www.almeida-pocasset.com.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
