Roland W. Pugsley, 74, Barrington

Roland W. Pugsley, 74 of Barrington, died Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015 at the Chestnut Terrace Nursing and Rehab in East Providence. He was the husband of Sharon (Bento) Pugsley.

Mr. Pugsley was born in Framingham, Mass., a son of the late Harold and Evangeline (Foote) Pugsley.

Roland was a statistical analyst for over 20 years for the Allendale Insurance Co., Now FM Global, before retiring.

He has lived in Barrington for over 21 years coming from Scituate, he was a member of the Barrington United Methodist Church.

Mr. Pugsley was previously a school teacher, teaching grammar school in Massachusetts, Chicago and Appalachia.

He was on the R.I. State Council of Churches Conference, he was a former committee member to build Barrington High School. He enjoyed doing research on computer language, liked reading and religion, he also enjoyed the National Geographic and geography.

Besides his wife he is survived by his sons Douglas Pugsley of East Providence, David Pugsley and his wife Minnie of Jenkins, Ky., his daughter Michelle Kakela of Port St. Lucie, Fla., a sister Jean Sherback of Dallas Oregon.

He was the grandfather of Cassandra Shaw, and Christopher Shaw.

Also survived by 2 nieces and 1 nephew, and 3 great-nieces.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, Nov. 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren.

Funeral services are private.
