Roger A Dickinson, 67, of Bristol
Roger A Dickinson, 67, of Bristol died peacefully on Dec. 5th, surrounded by friends, caring staff and residents of Silver Creek Manor.
Born in Caribou, Maine, he grew up in Perham, Maine. Roger graduated from Washburn High School in 1970. He spent most of his life managing social venues in Boston, Miami and Fall River before coming to Rhode Island.
He volunteered in hospice early in the AIDS epidemic.
Predeceased by his parents, Clifton and Frances Dickinson, he is survived by his siblings, Clifton (Linda) and Robert (Beverly) Dickinson, Sally (Bill) Sargent and Joann Powell; three nephews, Billy and Jason Sargent and Scott Powell; and three nieces, Laura Weatherbie, Lissa Madore and Julie Beam. Roger also leaves behind his dear friends, Glenn and Susan Donovan, Barbara Casey, Jane Nugent and the countless others he befriended over his years in Bristol.
Roger will be remembered for his compassion and helpfulness to anyone in need. His kindness and thoughtfulness to all were unmeasured.
A celebration of his life will be held on Dec. 14 at the St Michael’s Parish house, 399 Hope St., Bristol, at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions can be made to the East Bay Food Pantry and Rogers Free Library.
