Robert John McFetters, 61, of Barrington

Robert John McFetters, 61, of Barrington, passed away peacefully at home. He was the husband of Deborah Turnbull.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Robert J. and Irene (Boudreau) McFetters.

Bob was a knowledgeable parts representative for Toyota Motor Corporation for 40 years, working in various locations across Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

He was an expert drummer, freehand drawer, hockey player, and a 5th degree black belt martial artist. Bob was also a devoted husband, father and grandfather filled with persistence, patience and passion.

Besides his wife, Robert is survived by his daughters, Robyn J. McFetters of Barrington, and Erica L. Brandao, as well as his grandchildren Aiden and Trevor Brandao, all of Petoskey, MI.

Services are private and at the convenience of the family.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
