Robert J. Sylvia, 25, Westport

Robert J. Sylvia, 25, of Westport, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, at Rhode Island Hospital. Born in New Bedford, son of the late Robert Sylvia and the late Randi A.R. Lemberg, he had resided in Westport and Dartmouth for most of his life.  
A dedicated weightlifter and bodybuilder, he enjoyed fishing, camping, animals, outdoors, sports, the beach, motorcycles and WWE Wrestling, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his maternal grandmother, Jane E. Sykes of Westport; an uncle, Peter A. Lemberg; an aunt, Betty Jo Lemberg; a grand uncle and aunt, Edwin and Marie Lemberg; and several cousins.
He was the grandson of the late Arthur E. Lemberg, nephew of the late Martha J. Lemberg and grand nephew of the late Christopher Lemberg.
Memorial service will be announced at a later date. 
Arrangements are under the direction of the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Road, Westport.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
