Weekly update notes lane closures, alternating traffic patterns at sites

PROVIDENCE — The Rhode Island Department of Transportation issued its weekly update Friday afternoon, April 10, noting it has 57 active projects underway during the coronavirus crisis, which include 184 bridges being managed by 200 project managers and construction engineers with 300 highway maintenance personnel working at full capacity.

Projects continuing through at least the week of April 12 include the following in East Providence:

  • Rte. 114, at the Pawtucket Ave. and Pleasant St. intersection, alternating one-way traffic with narrowed lanes for construction, Wed.-Fri., 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
  • Pawtucket Ave., from Don Ave. to Bishop Ave., alternating lane closures for milling, Wed., 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
  • Greenwood Ave., from North Broadway/Newman Ave. to Don Ave., alternating lane closures for milling, Thurs., 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
  • Roger Williams Ave., from North Broadway to the Roger Williams Ave. Bridge, alternating lane closures for milling, Fri., 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
