RI Philharmonic featuring Latina women of contemporary music

On Saturday, February 20th, Lina Gonzalez-Granados takes The VETS podium to conduct great music from the past and present. Grieg’s exquisite Holberg Suite will be showcased along with rising composer Caroline Shaw’s Entr’acte and Gabriela Lena Frank’s mesmerizing Leyandas: An Andean Walkabout. Says Executive Director David Beauchesne: “The Rhode Island Philharmonic’s commitment to prioritize diversity in both repertoire and performers continues with this great concert, featuring Grieg’s tender Holberg Suite and contemporary compositions performed by our Philharmonic Orchestra musicians under the leadership of world-renowned conductor Lina Gonzalez-Granados.  

WHERE: The Vets, One Avenue of the Arts, Providence, and online

WHEN: Saturday, Feb. 20; 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.

COST: Varies in person; $40 per household online
